While Jennifer Lopez has enjoyed a pretty solid career, her marriage to Marc Anthony has been anything but. Even their divorce proceedings have been rocky. It's only recently that Lopez has responded to Anthony's petition for divorce from early 2012.

In her response to the divorce papers, the world-renowned pop star has requested that she be allowed to drop her legal married name Jennifer Muniz and go back to being Jennifer Lopez again. And why not? "J. Lo" is a name and a brand recognized all over the world. With a net worth of $250 million, Lopez has an image to consider and a massive fan base to please.

Lopez married Marc Anthony in June 2004. They're the proud parents of 5-year-old twins Max and Emme, and it's reported that Lopez has asked for joint legal and physical custody of their children once the divorce goes through.

In the meantime, Lopez has kept up her work as a judge on American Idol. She's also been in a 2-year relationship with dancer and choreographer Casper Smart. With her legal name changed back to its original self, it's a sign that Lopez is going back toward her enduring popularity as a singer and dancer, even while she redefines her personal life.
